District 5 Updates – Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving! Brooke and I wish you and your family a wonderful, safe and healthy holiday. This year’s festivities may look different from years past, however, let’s not lose sight of what is important: each other.
Our community is resilient; the Westside will come back stronger and be ready to take advantage of emerging opportunities.
New Jobs on the Westside
Recently, RPAC Almonds and Parreira Almond Processing Company have expanded their operations significantly, investing over $25 million dollars in their Los Banos operations and creating new jobs; they are not alone.
Over the next few months, I will be sharing information on other expansions, all creating skilled jobs right here at home.

COVID-19 Purple Tier
Merced County has moved into the Purple Tier on the Governor’s current COVID-19 reopening structure. Unfortunately, this is the most restrictive tier, and the status is more fluid than before. For specific information on closures, restrictions, employer resources as well as testing sites visit www.countyofmerced.com/3350/Coronavirus-Disease-2019.
If I can be of service, you are having an issue, or need assistance, please call me at (209)385-7366, or send me an email at scott.silveira@countyofmerced.com.
